Planning lessons, assignments, conducting tests and evaluating them constitutes a major part of a teacher’s work that takes a lot of manual labour, effort and time. This is especially difficult during school hours when teachers have to pay attention to their students.
The daily involvement and engagement needed to consistently manage the class as well as create assignments for students can, therefore, be challenging for teachers.
Prodigy helps in tackling just that! Using Prodigy, teachers can not only create assignments on a daily basis and get automated reports but also differentiate the delivered content for students based on their proficiency level and learning abilities so that every child can progress at his/her own pace.
And the best part, teachers can do it easily in 4 steps. Here’s how:
Step 1: Login To Your Prodigy Account
Visit www.prodigygame.com and click Login at the top-right corner to sign in to your teacher account.
From the multiple classes that you manage on the Prodigy teacher dashboard, select a class to create differentiated content for the students.
Step 2: Personalise Assignments With The Assessment Tool
After selecting a class, click on ‘Assessments’ from the left main menu and then click ‘create’ to align your classroom with assignments, lesson plans, and tests.
Step 3: Set Assignment Parameters In The Dashboard
To create personalised assignments for your students select ‘Assignments To Quiz Them On A Set Of Skills’ option and click on ‘Continue’. This option will enable you to create personalised/ targeted assignments that are delivered as questions to a set of students or individuals you choose.
There are 3 parameters you can set while creating personalised assignments:
- 1. Choose specific topics and skills -
In this step, you need to select all the skill sets that required to be included in the assignment. You can choose topics, sub-topics, and the number of questions that will be helpful for the students. - 2. Set the number of questions -
Next, select the number of questions you want to assign to your students. You can select a maximum of 50 questions per assignment. You can also increase or decrease the number of questions per skill to give more importance to specific skill sets.
Prodigy also lets you set a date range for students to complete the assignment. You can pick a date directly from the calendar and click on the ‘Create’ button to successfully add the assignment.
Step 4: Repeat For Individual Students
After creating a set of personalised assignments for students, you can repeat the same process and provide all students with differentiated assignments to target specific areas that require improvement.
You can also create multiple assignments for individual students to assess their progress separately and also address their trouble spots.
Prodigy’s ‘Content Differentiation’ feature helps teachers to personalise assignments, tests, and lessons for individual students based on their proficiency levels. This also helps teachers to target specific areas where students struggle to progress and revisit those lessons.
Targeted learning feature in Prodigy ensures that each student gets to practise and master math skills at his/her own pace while providing teachers a comprehensive insight into their daily progress.
